mind I used a scrap yard in Watford

man in a jumper
dog on a string
youth smoking fags

skip marked ferrous
skip marked copper
skip marked ally
big set of scales
and a caravan or trailer/office shed with a scanner and a PC

luckily duelling banjos wasn't playing on the radio.... I didn't want a "Squeal like a piggy" encounter

I had to show my driving licence or passport + one other recent bill and fill in a form to say I was the owner of the lead I had.
assay book filled in
yellow to me
green in the till
pink on file with my bill and licence details

£80 better off

however all above board and transaction was a pleasure

Oh dear Oh dear,
Just seen this story in the Kent messenger today.
(Iwade is near Sittingbourne and a sorta new-village cum town.)
This is very sad for the owner and the Collector car scene indeed!
Think he lives on the island near to me.
The Coronet, as Steveo says, was a Faversham car for many years.
Last time I saw it was at a local show in Hempstead Valley.

Its bloody unbelievable this stuff still goes on!!!
I lost a 67 Satellite and a 76 Dodge Aspen outta my unit in Tenterden.
That was back in the dark old days of metal-crushing-criminals.
Is this the return to 'lock up your daughters and cars' especially in Cologne...

ps I had a 4-door 70 Cornet wagon in the late 80's, she was a great survivor car with a 318, I drove the beasty everyday till I sold her for £300.
Apparently the front end went oop norf for a Superbird clone???
