There is a road closure on the A602 between Ware and Watton-at-Stone that starts at 20:00 and finishes at 05:00 every night.

Anyone coming to this Weds meet at the Three Horseshoes, Hooks Cross from the East (A10 Ware/ Hertford ) will need to find another way through. I've been using the A119 past Hertford North station and through Stapleford & Waterford villages...... but watch those speed limits!

I rang the pub last night, they said to get to them from the East is fine (Hertford etc) as the road is shut from The Chequers to the next round about on the Stevenage side.
They said that to get to them from Stevenage side you can go through Aston.

I might try a test run today.

The pub is still open, not cut off from the world, and they will look forward to seeing us on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, I will not be in attendance for the October meet - preparing for the "Thunder Road Cars" open day at the weekend so "busy, busy, busy!!"

Coming from Stevenage direction it looks like the best option after 8pm is to turn left towards Aston at the first roundbaout after the long dual carriageway, go into Aston village then right at the end onto Walkern Road and head east parallel to the A602 towards Watton at Stone.
When you get to the A602 Watton at Stone bypass, turn right and head back towards the pub.

Obviously reverse this when leaving.

I think its overnight works only, 8p-m - 5am.

Next one is Feb 14th, so may be one that a few find harder to attend!!

However the pub do good food so an offer of taking the other half out for dinner MIGHT work
