Steve Neimantis had the 65 coronet for about a year,it had a tunnel rammed 440,ran 12.5s.He ran it in the Northern street car challenge were you score points drag races, cruises and shows.
I ran it one meeting at York, then drove to Leeds cruise, met up with Steve, who had been working on the saturday, drove back to York, and he raced the Sunday, the points scoring was on the car not the driver.
One of the shows for points was Knebworth(I Think),so we pulled out the 4.56s and fit a 2.94 diff,We got there in a few hours from brighouse, cruising at 100mph down the A1
For the last York meet of the season,we fit a blown 440,re-fit the 4.56s,It ran 11.1 @129mph first pass, then sold engine to Brett Smith for the Rumblefish barracuda,That engine is still in it.
It was a nice driver because it still had leaf springs :thumbright:

I have loads of pictures from Chelsea, some are not great quality. I'll dig some of the better ones out when I get back from holiday.

Those are brilliant Del, you can really get a feel of the atmosphere and how busy it got in it's heyday.

Hi Matt - yes I spotted that, it is Paul in the green CH 8-) We might be just out of shot in our Mk4 Cortina, or in the Satellite. depending whether it was before or after '85

Looks like that CH has a white vinyl roof so unlikely Paul's.
Brilliant pics but my god there's some monstrosities in there.
I bet the blokes in the Mk1 Lotus Cortina & the Escort Harrier didn't realise their cars would be worth more than most of the Rods etc.

You're right re the roof, hadn't noticed that  And yes, some right horrors there too!
