dash was taken back to bare metal ,we didn't remove the vin tag as we wanted to leave the star shaped rivets in place , sprayed the dash satin black , yet more money on new vents

3" stainless steel exhaust custom make by a local car tuner

stripes arrived and fitted dash in just waiting for the chap to come and fit the new front screen dads been working hard on getting the front grill and light put back together
new rubber seal all round '
the long awaited fitting of the back seats ,starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel now
i'm not 100% sure about some bits of the wiring under the hood as its been chopped about over the years, so arranged for Dave Billadeau to come over and help check it over before we put a battery on it and set fire to it , just a couple of wires out of place. check all the fluid levels and its time to turn the key.
after a bit of pumping to get the fuel through and a very loud back fire that made us all jump ,checked the timing and try again . it roars into life and sounds awesome , check timing and a little adjustment on them carbs.

now i wish i had checked them other gauges as the water temp and oil pressure are not working
clocks out again and after a quick phone call to someone the make sure i have got it right about how the check each gauge, and both gauges are dead.
the time clock works but dose an hour in 5 minuets ( i think that may be a bit fast ) with the clocks out strip the time clock and adjust the speed to slowest setting
on the net again to order replacements

now we know it runs it time to assemble the front end of the car , dads got the grill and lights ready i seem to be missing some pics of the front end going together but here is some after a bit of adjustments have been done

still plenty of work to do like adjusting the torque arms ,bleeding the brakes fitting the new emergency brake cables , getting them clocks back in ,testing all the lights

up to date in the time line of were we have got to now
the new water temp and oil pressure gauges fitted and the dash back in place , sort out the center console wires ,carpets down and front seats in after a bit of trouble finding the holes , the same with the throttle peddle , drain down the rad and add some antifreeze ,start up and let it get warm to mix that antifreeze . very good oil pressure and temperature stat opens at correct temp . that bloody time clock is still running way to fast so disconnected for now , need to look into that some more. still got kick panels and sill plates to fit

The clock in my Charger ran fast for a few years, I read somewhere that to slow it down you have to wind the clock backwards around 24 hours while it's connected, I did this and the clock has been fine for years now.

after running the car for a bit turned it of and had a check round, found some power steering oil had been leaking out the top seal on the box .
no room to work on it in the car so striped out the headers and starter to remove the steering box and order a new set of seals. new seals fitted and box back in ,headers and starter back in and test , now the bloody pump has decided to start leaking ,rip it out and fit another pump we had kicking around. still got some wires to tidy up under the hood . head lights to set up

You see this is a good example of what I find amazing.
I've done those things you list there - but 'remove headers, remove steering box, fit seals' is a major piece of work for me (heck, it took half a day to get the damn steering shaft off the box !!!). Hats off sir; your rate of work is 50 times mine !

pushed the car out of the garage on Sunday and aimed it up the drive ( didn't want to try putting it in gear in the garage and punching a car size hole in the wall if it lurches forward ) already got the car warmed up so time to give it a go with plenty of room to bring it to a stop . put it in gear and nothing
not even a different engine tone as the auto trans engages . turn it of and check the oil level , not even showing on the stick ( its would be a good time to point out that we have checked this every time before starting and we have gone through gear selection with the car off the ground and had drive at the wheels ) must have had an air lock or something , ended up putting 4 ltr of oil in the trans ,now she moves , just need to tinker with the linkage , and fine tune of the tick over as even with a high tick over its nearly stalling when you put it into gear
electrical gremlins - only brake lights on the drivers side , but i also noticed that passenger side hood light and front valance light are on with your foot on the brake . some head scratching to come in the next few week i think and plenty of eye strain trying to follow wiring diagrams
