Hold on - time out...
The glass/top hinge comes out fine. The bottom bit that holds the glass (central pivot) is held in by a split pin I think that is below the top of the door. Only way to get to it is to remove the whole window winding frame...

Time for an update. Although I realize you are probably sick of pics by now... !
Took some pics of my winters work that show all the lovely rebuilt front end (very pleased with the valence which the local paint shop did 3 times to try and mix a colour match). Chrome work I am really really pleased with. Car is much closer to the look I wanted now.
Ongoing I move onto things like bushes, leaks and electrical gremlins... Is it me or are these cars never ending ?

Yep - Ashridge (the 3rd one) - Monument drive. Well recognized... (clearly not on a Sunday though it would be heaving ! )
