Fitted my dash and heater at the weekend finally as well as my loom.
What a pain the dash was to get in with the cage there :angryfire: .

thats lookin sweet, as for the colour of the engine i think it might be green but i might be wrong :D . i think the engine mounts wooden work too well though :lol:

Header clearance is a bit tighter than I thought :roll:
might look at making a set of fenderwells. Any thoughts ideas appreciated :-s

fenderwells will work well, just turn them out the side, job done as long as it dosnt leak its a complete exhaust system (honest officer :D )

Its a pain in the ass to make a set of Headers for a RHD Barracuda. I know, I build a one for the drivers side myself, Its that damn steering box and linkage that gets in the way. It took me about a week of tacking pipes in place and trying them out and then re tacking them to finally get it done but to be honest you are better off with fender well headers. In the end I guess I ended up with about a 1.5" tube for the exhaust gasses to pass through.!!

Chassis exit headers can be done, Kev managed it without too much drama. Replacing that big ol' rag joint on the steering box with a Borgeson UJ will gain you some space, as would fitting the Australian filter adaptor to mount the filter up top, it fits a lot tighter to the block than that remote adaptor you have there. Another option would be the Aussie Pacemaker tri y headers which I think would bolt straight in.

I have a factory list of all 220 Chargers that came over. However there are no surviving lists of Station Wagons, Sedans or any of the other models. When Chrysler Aus was taken over by Mitsubishi in 81 they put everything in the skip. A few clued up employees rummaged and took out what they thought would be useful. So while they got the Chargers and cars of percieved high future value they didn't bother saving the more numerous records of the regular cars.

I hadn't thought of looking to the Gaydon museum for info, I'll try that link too. As far as UK records of these cars, there hasn't been much I could find so far. Warwick Wright didn't know anything about it, I even tried going to the company that owns Warwick Wright to see if they kept records. The Coventry Museum has a UK factory special Centura but claim to know nothing about it and know even less about the other Chryslers that came over.

However, Bob at American Auto Barn has been building a Right Hand Drive register for some years. There are all sorts in that.

Hi James,

Maybe you ought to write to AMC magazine ? There is a thing in their editorial section of the most recent issue saying that (from memory) 'there were about 300 Chryslers sent to the UK, two of which were V8 Chargers'. 2/220 ... close.

I have written a couple of times to them but MattH had a letter published about a year ago.
