Surely if it's disconnected while he's on the road Danny will be okay?

We need to ask a traffic policeman...know any Rob? ;)

Yes Ivor ;)

I though the ruling was that because any lights on a vehicle have to be in working order, and because it's illegal to use police lights on anything other than an official police vehicle, you cant drive on public roads with the light bar fitted

Or something like that anyway...

I'm sure our friendly local traffic cop can put that into proper words :read2:

Or Will Datsun - didn't he get pulled for this reason on the way to Wheels Day or summat, when he had the light fitted to his Rosco car?

I believe (to stop the hassle) you can drive with it fitted, but it must have a lightbar cover on it........I've seen someone driving round In a Crown Vic with one on.

Shame Really as it spoils the look of the car, but its better than having to continually mount/dismount/scratch paint!

I hope youre right Dave, that would make more sense if you could get away with just having the lights covered :thumbright:

I should have paid more attention the hundreds of cop cars at Brands Hatch a couple of weeks ago. If they had to remove/disable their lights and sirens when out on the road, they certainly made up for it when driving round the display areas  :wack: :help:

Pretty sure it's OK to cover the lamps on the road. Yes,Will did get stopped on the way to Wheelsday!

Out of interest, vintage fire engines are allowed their lights if the appliance is in full working order and available as back up in a big emergency, still not allowed to use lamps unless on a call.

Removed as much of the dash / instruments as possible today so it can all be cleaned as it has 37 years of the Nevada desert sand in there and then that will make spraying the rest of the dash 'tan colour' much easier... (11/08/2015)
