Yikes! Once again a year has passed since we updated anything on here!

Slowly but surely we've been chipping away at some of the starting/running/tuning problems, but one of the jobs we've needed to do over the last 12 months was to redo the vinyl roof.

We had it done last July by a guy who came recommended from one of our friends on here (no names, no pack drill ;) ) but unfortunately it didnt come out as well as the job done on matey's car :(

Also, whilst the front & rear screen came out and went back in one piece ok, the trim didnt go back on very well, so rather than try and get them to redo the vinyl (it had some un-glued areas that started lifting within a week or two of getting the car back), we thought we'd cut our losses and get another vinyl and get it fitted at JC's down in Surrey.

We did ask John if they could do it first time around but at the time, he didnt know of anyone suitable. In the meantime tho, as you know, he's found someone who's done a great job on the vinyl on his Superbird so we decided to get a new vinyl from Year One (after problems with the one we got from Legendary last year  ) and then get JC and his team to replace the vinyl & refit the trim properly.

So, with the new vinyl collected from Ron at STS, we dropped the car off at JC's last month with a short list of other bits that needed their expert attention :)

Among the other jobs that needed doing was to repaint the panel between the rear screen and the trunk lid, and the panel between the windcsreen & the hood (scuttle?).

John has also adjusted the hood so it sits flat & the doors so they close properly, ie without slamming! He's also flatted some of the 20 year old paint and removed some of the orange peel.

The pics dont really do the work done justice so you'll have to check it out at the Nats if you want a closer look :D

Looks fantastic Rob!

Great to see such a clean example being driven rather than being a trailored garage queen!

Love this car. Spot on.
Must say I never noticed the areas that have had attention.
Looks like another 1st class job from JC :thumbright:

Thanks chaps!

Forgot to say, JC also repainted the dash top when the screen was out, as it had some rust around the VIN area and in the opposite coner.

We also replaced the panel that sits between the front bumper and the rad support as the one we had was from a 1970 and didnt fit properly. You cant really see it unless you look up from beow the bumper, or down in front of the rad when the hood's up. So much so, I even forgot to look at it when we picked the car up! John redid the satin black paint that it comes with (also from Year One) and fitted it correctly - ie sitting on the inside lip at the bottom of the bumper and not on the underside. Details, details.... :D

Next on the cards is a trip back to Paul Knight's tomorrow morning, to iron out anything else we think he can fit in between now and the 25th July...
