Yes that was Szabo's "Red" 'Cuda, originally a 340 auto lemon twist car with a white interior (he threw that in a skip), became Pinkie and went to Scandinavia. Incidentally, the whole front end of that car was twisted, if you looked at it straight on and compared the top of the grille to the base of the windscreen, it was very obviously down a good couple of inches one side. Szabo always claimed it had twisted due to torque, but it was bent the wrong way for that. I heard from someone else it had been through a shop window years before when someone used it in a robbery....

This does look scarily familiar, I was the owner of a '71 mustang convert. Went round my mates house one day, With Joe, He was two then. Steve lived in Edmonton, and owned a Blue LTD. He had that car for donkey years. Bet Blue remembers that. Anyway Steve and Colin, another pal of mine. Had the car round the back of Dons fishing tackle shop in Edmonton. Don Jemmett was the owner of the shop. His son is John Jemett, he of Artful Dodger fame.

Well the car was parked in the ally-way, Steve and Colin were repainting it, using Jam, Thats what we called enamel paint then, goes on really shiney, and hides a multitude of sins. Now Steve and Col used to buy cheap American cars.. fix em then sell them on Loot and E&M usually. They actually let Joe, (who was two remember) spray the drivers side!!

I saw that 'cuda and fell in love with it. I offered them £500 for it. I had known Steve from when were little. He said he would not sell it to me cos it was awful! The front was so twisted, when they put the motor in, they had to use a massive jack to line the motor up so both mounts would fit. They said it was like a tightly wound spring waiting to snap!

They sold it to a guy from the east end for £1200. He bought it back a couple of weeks later, but left with a flea in his ear I believe!

Joe was two, so it would have been 1986 - 1987.

The red one Jeff. I also knew Steve from Edmonton with the 'Cuda, we all used to meet up at the Beehive in Tottenham.
