Tommy Bolin was a legend and my opinion transformed Deep Purple when Blackmore went a bit wonky bent.
Couldn't really get on with Bolin's solo stuff but when he was in James Gang he was magnificent! Check it out: VIDEO
When Living Colour released Vivid I must have worn the vinyl to a membrane. One of the best debuts ever I reckon! VIDEO
My favourite Tommy? Mr Shaw: VIDEO

These guys produced out a ton of albums but never made it big - shame: VIDEO
And the two sides of this band: VIDEO

Nope not me Tony
That track was ok but they're not a band i remember much about from back in the day, tbh .... many more like them around at that time and plenty with a bit more originality.
Not necessarily in the same vein but it made me think of Loverboy, Honeymoon Suite etc (who I think I've mentioned in this thread before).
Not that I need an excuse to post up a couple of Loverboy classics...
(dodgy videos, haircuts & clothes, but the music still sounds good, imho
)

Thanks for the Aldo Nova link Tony
Bought the lp's when they first came out (used to trust the reviews in 'Sounds' back then!) and saw him at Hammersmith on the Subject tour back in... whenever it was.
Hadnt really thought much about him in recent years till about 18 months ago when Alice Cooper played 'Fantasy' on Planet Rock and it blew me away like it did first time round, so got it ordered from Amazon the next day. Not got 'Subject' yet tho...
The aforementioned Fantasy...
