her jaw is held together by wire and pins but She is fully recovered thankfully and amazingly is still a freindly Cat

What's up with these people? I reckon they should give the teenagers some of the same medicine...Nigel the cat needed Doug's Rottie as a mate, he would have sorted the little buggers out!
Great story though Tony!

At 8:00 pm My dog Bonny died in our home this evening. Elvinor Bonny Belinda born 22nd january 1996. She's been showing signes for the last few day's infact we had insisted yesterday that Colin Our eldest son took his dog home. And I was going to take her to the vet yesterday and today and then tomorrow. But she past away infront of the fire place. We're very sad as you can expect, but she has had a good life and has been well loved.
I dont think I will ever want to have another dog.
I say good night to you Bonny, and may you rest in piece.

Thats the the trouble with dogs. They dont last long enough. I get sad even thinking about Hemi going.
Sounds like Bonny was loved, had nice life and being in front of fire cant be bad....

Thanks for the kind words Will, Morgan. She was a good house dog. She loved everybody and always made a fuss of everybody that came to the house. She was great with children too and other dogs. I've never had any trouble with her, she's never ruined any furniture or shoes etc. And I've never had any expensive vet bills.
I guess she's been ill for some time, but the trouble with Staffy's they have a very strong pain threshold so it's difficult to tell if their in any pain or discomfort. She gave up going for walks about 2 years ago (and gained some weight as a result) but we just put this down to her age. When we got Colin's dog she perked up a bit and loved having him around. But you couldn't take them for walks together because of the age and energy But. After walking just a few street's she'd had enough. So from then on she just did her business in the garden. She also had lost most of her site by the end so in the end she was just waiting for the end.
Every night before locking up I would open the kitchen door and call her to go out and this last few weeks she has really took her time responding. The last 4 or 5 days she could barely get out through the kitchen door on her own. And the last few days she has been off her food. i kept meaning to take her to the vat and have her put to sleep but just couldn't go ahead and do it. In the end she couldn't quietly at home and I feel better about that. After she went last night I laid her in her sleeping basket and covered her in an old quilt, then took her out to the garage. And when I got home from work today, I found and nice spot for her by the conifers and the top of the garden near the garage and lay her in the ground. She faces east to see the sun rise. And I'm sure her sole will watch over the house.
I'll never have another pet, it's like loosing a member of the family, I don't want to go through that anymore than I have too. I just hope I'm the next one to pop mi cloggs in our home, but not for quite some time hopefully.

John, we had three old cats and they all died within a few months of each other and we said that's it, no more pets, we don't want the grief.
Our house was like a morgue for a year...I'd come home from work and it would be absolute silence.
Well Rosie and I couldn't stand it any longer and we picked up Sid, the Rex rescue cat, now when I get home all hell breaks loose...lovely!
Chin up mate!

Sorry to hear about that John. But Ivor is right. The home just feels so EMPTY and cold without a dog. Which is why I got Billy only 4-5 months after Lizzie died.
I never thought I could replace Lizzie. And I haven't. Dogs are like people. They are all different personalities and looks. It is great having a new best friend. The pain when they go is a small price to pay for the years of joy they bring.

Bought a car of someone the other day who is trying to find a home for a lovely rottie boy, he's about 3 1/2 and seems very friendly. So if anyone on here is interested PM me. He is in East Sussex. Here's a pic.

Good answer Will. Thats cheered me up.

.
Thanks again chaps for all the kind words.
It is really strange not having her near the dinning room table waiting for left over's. She used to sit by the table with her back to us , so as not to have us think she was after something

. And when we had come back from holiday, she would go daft and make a fuss, then when we got home would sit with her back to us, as if to punish us for leaving her for so long. And if you called her she would just ignore it at first
If I stood at the kitchen window and could see a cat or 2 in the garden, I would only have to whisper the word "cat", and she would dart for the back door like a rocket. A couple of times, I didn't get the door open quick enough and she nearly necked herself in the gap
She never caught any of 'em, but they used to sit on the fence hissing down at her while she went crazy barking and jumping, and you could see they were laughing at her.
She actually did corner 1 once, I could see all the fir sticking up on the cats back, and it was obviously crapping itself! But she was so shocked she had the upper hand, she didn't know what to do.

The tail started wagging and she started leepin' about like a lunatic because of course it was all just a game to her.
I may feel different about having another pet in a few month's time. But right now I just dont want to think about it. There will only ever be 1 Bonny Belinda, and of course i will never forget her.
