A typical day in the life of a pro-street car ;)

Bad luck Mark, gutted for you that you didn't get a run, I know how frustrating that is!
If it's any consolation it looks even better in daylight.

We'll be back next year, better and badder than ever :D

Shame you didn't put in a pass.
But at least you got some bits ironed out in the pits.
Exciting times ahead :thumbright:

Forgot to post a pic of the 1st time I tried the new back wheels last week. Well one side at least ;)

Always a bit of trepidation, will they, won't they fit :D

I can't believe it's been so long since I did an update ....

Well I have been struggling with car for a while now & have been doing a few jobs to rectify some of the bugs. The real headache has been the difficulty in starting the car & suffering with Kickback like symptoms. If the car had a reg dizzy I would of said it was out of phase.

Tonight I had Shane T do some remote tuning from the US. It's amazing watching your PC & the Motec screen wiz zing round & parameters changing, moving, etc. Anyway to get the point it was diagnosed the crank trigger was suffering with noise, which was dropping the voltage trough the crank sensor being on the way out.

Cars not fixed, but a relief to know what it was & something to store in the memory bank should the problem ever arise. Modern technology is great, but there are times when I miss a good old fashioned carb & Dizzy.

Change parts now on order & fun will be re installed real soon ;)

From an update perspective the only real changes was the installation of a scavenge pump for the turbos, as oil from turbos was not draining away fast enough.

Looks a lot of work that. Can you not foil insulate the cables in some way ?

Removed the troublesome crank trigger & sensor tonight, in readiness for the change.
New wheel & sensor should be here next week I hope.

Tis indeed a lovely car, one that I would be proud to run myself with a high winding SB/BB or that Hemi N/A with a change of pistons and a pair of carbs.

As you say modern Tech is great but can be a lot of hassle in a TT set up, and expensive, shame your out the country so much and don't have the time to get it all sorted so we can see it run, but needs must, and the ££'s have to come from somewhere, all the best with it and hope to see it soon at the track running low 8's>7's.

Hi Les,
Yes, TT is a big step up from the blown motor, plus having to learn a new system like the Motec. That being said, this problem would of most likely been as hard to diagnose when it was blown.
I knew it was timing related, as all motors react the same way, I just couldn't find the problem.

Shane T definitely knows his stuff & his online tuning was invaluable to me. I'm hoping after we have spent some time at the track in May & he's played his magic on the tune, I should be all set for a while... At least till something breaks ;)

Work does get in the way, but also pays for it, so can't complain. As much as I love my car, family life & home is a priority for me. I'm sure this could of been resolved much sooner if I hadn't had the decorators in for the last 10 weeks :D

So won't be long, soon I should have some fun & all being well some good track times to go with it as well :thumbright:

Cheers,
Mark....
