Also, how much £ for a centre grille piece?
All the trim is fine, I just need the big main centre plastic bit.

Be kind with the £ I've still got alot of spending to do

PITA=Pain in the bottom.

Got a centre section, not perfect, but will do the job.

Really want to get rid as a whole grille, as the stripping down is a delicate process. So don't really want to spend the time doin it, as I've had my fair share of grille stip downs.

And a few more pics for y'all.....

Took the motor out today. Inspected the shells and crank. All ok.
Had a mass panic at first coz when we dropped the sump it looked like lots of bits of metal in the bottom, like a shell had gone.

It turned out to be the brittle rubber fragments of a valve stem seal.

Welds need to be ground down on the floor, but thats looking good now.
At least you can't see through it now

Been a busy puppy with the grille set up too. Stripped it from it's frame and have been cleaning the bits behind the headlight doors. Will stonechip all the bits first, but will give it a coat of black gloss to finish.

A few more to keep you amused

If anyone with a 68 charger could send me some pics of the rear light area and where the trunk closes in the corners above the lights that would be very much appreciated as you can see where we're working, and both sides are like it so we don't have a guide to go by if you see what I mean.
Nice close ups please would be great

Seems like quite a few late nights to me, nice workmanship too. Having been repairing my grill recently, I can appreciate the time & patience spent to get to this stage (not that mine looked as complicated to repair)

All those hours will soon be worth it.

Wow !

My Grille needs to come out at some point, plenty of broken bits. THat looks fantastic - gives me some inspiration anyway. It was one of those jobs I just keep putting off. Next winters stripdown and the grille gets it !
