Probably the way the rev the nuts off the engine without enough load.

Thats about it, alot of people we know (engine builders included) dont like dyno's

the old type dyno,s did used to be loaded for sure, i think the modern ones maybe not

there has to be a load on or how would you measure it? how would you tell one engine from another with no load on?
its more likely too much load that makes them more likely to break on the dyno than too little

no engine should break on the dyno, what it does do is show you any immediate faults, and some can be terminal

I think most modern dynos are just a solid steel drum or a steel container full of concrete? I don't think they have the rear wheel load that the original "Dyno Don" water turbine machines had.

Dont think a Dyno would be any worse than doing a burnout.....
