I have seen these tabs broken off of flex plates before, this is usually caused by the engine and trans not being lined up correctly.

How can you not get it lined up properly...... there are dowel pins and you just wont be able to bolt it together if they are not located properly ??

Had the same problem with the Pit , the starfish flex plate shattered on all four corners , was due to a front pump issue.
To much torque will also break these flimsy plates , B&M every time.
Don't think Slick meant how it sounded.

Had no issues running the Pit with the box upside down , dowl pins lined up too.
