Hi and welcome, a bit late but i have just noticed this thread. 25 mpg? mine will only return 14mpg! :(
power steering leak try a product called leak-lok, it is an additive that slightly swells the seals and might cure the leak, i had the same problem and was constantly topping up the fluid but after using the leak-lok it has cured it (often they leak due to lack of use). Brass core plugs definatly the way to go. Make sure your M.O.T. guy understands power steering boxes, mine failed on excess play in the steering 15 years ago, took it to somewere else (who knew what they were doing ) and it has passed on the steering ever since.

pete walton wrote:Welcome, here's a question to all the Aussie charger owners who has got the quickest one over the quarter in the country.???
Mine ran a 15.5 with its 318. Could've been a lot quicker, but never got it finished. Open 8 3/4 with 3.23's didn't help. A cam that came on at about 2800rpm, but a convertor with an 1800rpm stall. And at the time, getting decent headers for a right hand drive Charger was virtually impossible.
It was the quickest at the time, but that was 20 years ago...
