Exactly Dave.....

I need a fast, reliable, easy to use, quick repair (if needed) machine.

It has to have at least 3 years of usage. When it is finished with here, it usually goes off to a school for much abuse!

It needs to work out of the box, network with everything, including my phone and ipod.

Well there you go, that's what you need, it doesn't cover what I need.

I don't know what a PC sells for...

24 inch monitor
2 x 3.06GHz Intel Core Duo
2Gig Ram
500GB hard drive
8x double layer Superdrive
NVIDIA GeForce 880 GS Graphics with 512MB memory
3 years warranty

£1305

Thought that was a good price

My power supply went down on the OSX server last week.... Only 5 years old. Had a new one next day... Free of charge... Get what you pay for I guess.

And that's not a bad price but we built higher spec PC's than that for half that price, they would of course have cost more if we'd bought them off the shelf but then we built exactly what we wanted.

I know.... This is where we go full circle on this thread. I have done this time and time again... Mr X has put his custom built PC next to my off the shelf Mac. The PC is boasting a higher speed processor(s).

We run the same applications, from booting up. we run the same exercise. The Mac kills it. Why? Purely down to the OS.

So there you go, back to Operating Systems. Where we started.

Bring your Mac to Shakey or SP, we'll have a grudge race.

That would be cool! Course, I would have to paint mine first. And no trailoring it there Martin.
