Back in the day, when mates of mine had scooters, they used to have a big tapered, mini megaphone style pipe rather that one of those little spanny boxes...what happened to those then?
Amongst the scoots my pals had were a GT225 with Wal Philps injection, a TV 175, an LI 150 and an LD125 that cost two quid.
Stick that in yer pipe and smoke it Dave!

you can still get them... but they make them go slower...thats the difference between a sports exhaust and a performance exhaust
sports means loud and nout much else
good pipe will cost ya £250+ tuned length expansion chamber with reverse cone and can.
you'll have to cut and paste the link Board doesn't like *** in URLS
http://www.lambrettaspares.com/sparepar ... 0537k.html
helps you get 30BHP out of an engine that produced little more than 8 or 9
Nice

I struggle enough with the murdercycle thing, but scooters? I'm really not getting it at all...

Blue, it's a lifestyle thing more than anything else, you need to log onto the mod culture web site, put on your old vinyl copy of Ogden's Nut Gone Flake and you are away...I don't expect you to go out and buy yourself a Parka, an italian 3 ply tonic whistle and a pair of two tone weejees, but you'll get the picture.
I think.

In that case then I'm totally lost, don't like mod clothes or music neither....

I have eclectic tastes in music, but Mod clothes and Scooters really isn't me, I've always been a scruffy bugger...

In my earlier days, Ivor.
This was my scoot for most of the time, originally built for the California Highway Patrol, as the Hardly able-to's could not catch the bad guys:

Nice one dave
some interesting tattoos and a few of the scooter equivelent of a custom van but some nice examples as well....
take away the flying jackets and it could be the NATS
gangs of middle aged fellas who should know better talking about going faster and drinking beer.
doesn't it make you sick when some of those scooters will sell for more than a resonably fettled dodge dart
its future man...... 50-70 MPG
