Jeez, those axles are heavy, still its in now, along with the Flowmasters
Can anyone recomend an exhaust place that has the over-axle pipes in stock or has the pattern to make some in stainless?I`ve had a quote for a fortune so far, which I cant afford so I dont know what to do as the MOT may depend on it.

Just got to prime the oil system and try to start the bugger!!
Also on the back brakes,,Now thats what I call an up-grade!!!

GHreat stuff Richard, US Automotive bent up my tail pipes from their pattern book...I needed to do a little tweaking but I couldn't complain, especially at the price!

Nice weather Sunday,so I went up the unit, put my new UJ`s in put the prop on,hooked up the trans cooler to the box and got the car transported back home.Got the car into the newly concreted and carpeted garage without scratching any more paint

.Even Debs said it now looks nice.

I even started up my little pit bike for the 1st time in about 6 months and it fired on the 3rd kick.Oh yes life was looking prety good..Did another couple of small jobs on the Dodge and decided to go for a lunchtime beer or 2.Got changeg, went out the front to the Rover and found this.
You should see what was left of the ignition switch and wiring.

Doesn`t life have a strange knack of building you up and then kicking you in the nads when you least expect it.
Spent the whole of my day off today finding bits and fitting them so Deb can go to work tomorow,She went in my Granada Mk 2 tonight

.At least that brightened up my day.Lets just say she is not too keen on that car!!!

Slow progress to say the least lately

Still, better than no progress at all.
The car certainly wont be at the Avon Park meet this weekend, but is getting closer.I have just fitted the last new brake pipe so can try to bleed them next week, then I need to "tweak" as Ivor said, the over axle pipes and sort the tail pipes, fill the box up and see what happens
The motor sounds realy sweet,if you can hear it over the Flowmasters in a metal garage

(I think the neighbours can)
The motor is running in this pic of the finished engine bay but you cant tell,so I`ll let the guages do the talking!!!Hope to see lots of ya at Shakey......

Thats a lovely looking set of wheels you hav there mate. I have said it before and I'll say it again, I LOVE 70 Coronets. Would love to let people in front of me have that mean looking grille in their rear view mirror - right up until the point I smoked past em.

Things are looking promising here.I took the car out yesterday to get the over axle pipes joined to the boxes by a place that does one off exhausts, only in stainless(ouch)
Car seemed to drive fairly well considering there are a few things that have not been set up yet as I have no MOT and cant realy use it.
The Sure grip hooks up a treat and the box shifts nice and firm if it changes at 3000 RPM or more(cheers Dunc)
Considering its on new discs/pads shoes and skimmed drums the brake pedal feels fairly solid and only has 1" of travel before it pulls up IN A STRAIGHT LINE!!!!!

I can feel an MOT coming on. 8)
Hopefuly the 700 Amp calcium battery from a diesel Tranny, that I fitted tonight will cure my hot start problem. That and a bit of timing adjustment..
Booked it into the paint shop today but the soonest he can do it is 13 june,
But I`m hoping to go to Billing on 17 june so it may not happen..

No slash take Dunc, there are a lot of bits that need doing, due to filler cracking, bubbles appearing and dings from it sitting around for so long.
We have tax and MOT now so are getting some miles on the motor
Also there seems to be an outbreak of black lines apearing in pub car parks in the Birmingham area
The fan belt shot its self off the other day so the Batt light came on,I thought the alt had died so as I was only a couple of miles from home I decided to rush for home, when I got there I spied the temp guage on 240 degrees

.Whoops, seem to have got away with it though as the guage never went over 160 yesterday
Must have too many guages to look at
