A day off work to try and make some serious headway...
Well - making progress but a bit down in the dumps at the mo. I try hard but sometimes it just doesnt come together as fast as you'd like.
On the upside, got alternator bolted on, engine wiring harness labelled and ready to go, header bolted in , engine mounts finished (Took me an hour to do 1 bolt - thats how tight it was ! )
On the downside I have discovered the following from small blocks to big blocks.
Power steering pump is different - despite having new brackets it just doesnt fit. Seems they fitted multiple types

. Fan spacers wrong, top/bottom hoses for rad wrong, fuel pipe short, heater hose short, throttle cable mount wrong, fuel pump fittings wrong, carb fittings wrong etc etc etc...
All small stuff I realize to you experienced bods but it gets a bit annoying when everything you start ends in no job completed just another list of 'parts needed' ! I think you need a shed full of adhoc bits, brackets, ancills and nots/bolts before starting this sort of thing. It has surprised me how many bits are different.
Anyway, back onto good news. The missing bits for the most part I have found, the biggy seems to be the power steering pump.
Is this something I am likely to find in a 'wanted' ad ? Anyone...?
Anyhow, heres a couple of pics of my 'Dodge Charger still life project'. This is the power steering pump that has driven me to distraction.
