Some more really great informative replies. Thanks folks. I guess with regards to parts it's just a case of taking the opportunity to stock up on extra consumables as and when you're ordering bits?
That Demon really is a nice smart little thing isn't it? I've been admiring it for a couple of weeks now on the 'bay.

Well, it seems we've bought a car folks!
Nicola and I put a deposit down yesterday on the little blue Demon that Dave brought in from California after viewing it last weekend. All being well we'll have it home next weekend.
We've spent a fair bit more than we planned to - in fact we've almost wiped out our wedding fund which might prove a bit challenging given that we're getting married next May so I suppose we'll have to eat double egg 'n chips for a while!
I've had to order some new storage racking for the garage... there's no way the car would have fit in with the workbench and racking laid out the way it was. It'll still be a bit of a squeeze but it'll fit in length wise with about an inch to spare if the dimensions I’ve found on the interweb are accurate? Eek!
I've wanted to own an American car for a long time and I haven't been this excited about picking up a car in years. After 10 years of all sorts of 60's and 70's British tin it feels like it's the start of a completely new adventure and I'm really looking forward to attending some of the events next year.
I'll sign off simply by thanking you all once again for the wealth of advice and support we've been offered in the short time we've been a part of the MMA and I'll do my best to keep the inevitable stupid questions to a minimum.
All the best,
Jon & Nicola.

Wise choice I reckon. You might have found something cheaper, but it would have cost you more in the long run. You just can't beat an unmessed with rust free car.
