cracklin rose
Jim is absolutley right about this car. The car should stay as a race car only. To put it on the street might raise some nasty unwanted issues.
No your wrong guys that is Cracklin...no doubt about it.....say all you want about the other Cudas etc....there are two problems here....
Its a DVLA problem....No issues to be raised at all.....only speculation
1.
The reg is the same as Marks....there has obviously been some dodgy goins on...at some point during the cars lives
As one was more race than street....the other more street than race
We are not laying blame here, just want an age related plate for both.
2.
This car has a vin on the door that matches the codes on the cowl and rad support.
The lakewood cage fitted with sticker is still there, and has been there forever by the look of the welding and fit.
You can see where the rear wings have been replaced / repaired.
So only the front wings and grill are different from '71 and the dash pad.
Steer away from it, those doubters and number crunchers....and prepare to eat your words
Its obvious the guy is not selling this to make big money, nor is he selling a numbers matching trailer show queen
This is an old historic race car
It has had many fronts and body panel both steel and glass.
It now has a '70 front, as the '71 is not around... it may have been damaged or was possibly sold as prices soared for them.
The dash pad has been changed at some point....this happens when they crack,.... as mine did, i replaced it and swapped the vin......but back when this was done, these cars were not to be the high priced collectibles they are now
"Accept it"!!!... i have seen it, it is Cracklin Rose ....it would be to much trouble to find or manufacture a cage, and a story, and keep it locked away for X amount of years, to sell it for no more than any Cuda or Challenger in this condition anywhere, No's matching or not.
Its solid and rust free, and has a very good interior....just no carpet
When the number plate thing is sorted, whoever has it will be chuffed...and this will be a great Cuda again
Its a DVLA problem....No issues to be raised at all.....only speculation

It's Cracklin' Rose all right, of that I have absolutely no doubt. But I don't believe it's on the right number plate, even if stamped numbers match, I'm convinced it's wrong. If you've looked at all the old photo's and read that magazine article, I don't know how you could think anything else. Anyway If I had the time and money I'd love to buy it and put it back to something like it was, to me it's a piece of drag racing history. But I'd have to try and trace Dave Rose to ask him if could remember what the registration no was....

I dont think anyone is expecting this to be a big money car, just a good solid performing Cuda
In its race guise would be sublime
Id be more than happy with it, and if i had the spare, i would have bought it.
After all whats mine worth???...not numbers matching, late model car....but to me priceless
