Well the next stage is done.
Big thanks to Huxley Motorsports. Drove the 30 miles home on twisty country roads. It's certainly helped stiffen things up.

10.0 cage that's been installed
Marc built it to so that the rear windows can still be wound down and if I elect to, the rear seat can be reinstalled.
Really happy with the result.
Harness bolts have arrived today, so need to get those in to get the belts done. Prior to that I'll do some prep work on the floor and start cleaning the interior up for next years fit out.
Think it's nearly done for this year, though have a a few other things in the back of my mind. I may opt to those do before Dragstalgia if I can find the ££

Sensible upgrade Dave! You’ll have fun trying to paint the bars by the back window, I’m going to try a small roller to get there on mine.

good idea, a little 'radiator roller' should work. then stick cling film on the glass so you won't get paint on it too
neil.

Thanks guys.
Yeah, certain parts of the cage will be interesting to say the least.
Decided as the weather was playing ball to do the next stage today.
I'll do the interior upgrades after the summer is over, but wanted to do a few things as the carpet is now gone. Mainly wanted to get rid of the crud and surface rust in the footwells which annoy me any time I get in the car now. You can see that in the last images I posted.
Three hours with various wheels of doom and the floor came up quite nice. Put a coat of grey primer on to protect the bare metal for now. Will need yo take the seats out to do the job properly.
Also got the harness bolted in and attached, so safety kit is in and ready for Dragstalgia.

Pics...I have no idea why it's rotated them 90 degrees. Tried changing its orientation on the phone, still the same.

A few more things done today as it's my last chance before Dragstalgia.
Had a Grant wheel on the car for years now, but with the cage and being of the larger size, access and egress is interesting to say the least. So opted to go for a removable wheel. Grant does a kit that allows retention of the turn signals etc, so opted for their kit to match the wheel.
The wheel sits slightly closer than before, but not to a point its noticable.
Easy to engage and disengage, so much easier for getting in and out now.

That was going to be the lot for this year, but over Xmas, whilst window shopping online, I found a set of front wheels that I've always liked which would be perfect for racing. They just happened to be in the UK, in small bolt pattern, that the pre 73 A bodies had.
A geat believer in fate, I decided to get the other mods done to see where I'd be, whilst taking the risk they would sell.
They didn't, so today these turned up.
