exactly! - the f1 car would still be on the start line when the funnycar/top fueler was pulling the chutes some people think f1 is THE fastest motor sport ever

i watch most motor sports but imo rally driving is the ultimate driving skill i know its not an even field with the works teams but the fact that they all go as fast as possible on surfaces that you could barely do 20mph in a normal car defies belief, that is a skill that requires big big kahunas

im sure on utube somewhere there is a video of a top rally driver showing how his feet operate the pedals on a stage, its nuts the speed and the dexterity of the footwork is amazing

anyway thou you still cant beat a 5 second head to head top fuel race for thrills

I agree Dodge, and Rally driving is all done with a safety run-off area of SFA lined with great big trees, or spectators, or a drop of a squillion feet straight down. Trouble is, you cannot compete unless your surname ends in '..inen' and your mammas name was Magnus

i watched some old school rallying the other day i think it was audi quatro 4wd & peugeot 205 t26, the spectators were stood in the road whilst the cars were coming at them full speed before getting out of the way, reminded me of the tour de france where the spectators pat the riders on the back on hill climbs (not quite the same danger thou)

a few years back i went out for a spin with a friends sister who is an amateur rally driver, very interesting never thought i would admit that a woman could drive that good, impressed me and it was only a bog standard subaru couldnt tell you what her feet or hands were doing as i was too busy holding on to the roll cage, seat, just about anything and screaming oh s*** were gonna die! one of the best rides of my life

i dunno miss a few critical words out, and make it look like something its not, a man could be in deep trouble with you lot around!!!

completely innocent i can asure you i didnt say she was a looker now did i, back end of a moose more like but a talented driver she nethertheless was, anyways by the time the drive was over my body was in no fit state for anything else, legs were like jelly, heartbeat near critical, etc etc and yes it was from the exilarating driving experience

Oh Morgan, and there was me counting on you crewing for me this year :help:

BTW; they ran an F1 Jordan (Ralph Cobbler's) at the Fast Fest last year, and the Sox beat it twice over the quarter in terms of ET. I did not see his tax disc, either......

It ran a 10.7, then a 10.6.
Very strong headwind, I was down 4mph at 126mph. F1 car pulled 138mph; bonkers.

I am sure they could have changed the gearing to beat me.
Loads of agg to get it running and staged, cut out and stalled many times, and I think they saw the clutch off. They could stage the jet car quicker.

Not bad, given the steering wheel cost 10 times my total car, and I had 5 seats :D

Being an old fart, I too have seen the rocket car. Sublime.
