Those chrome steelies with smooth caps look trick. So let me get this right, if I go for 10J rear width I need air shocks? And if I need air shocks then they COULD fail and drop the rear arches onto the moving tyres? Is that why you don't run with them any more?

The patina mobile was recently fitted with new RT leaf springs and white shocks (haven't yet checked what make) so it sits fairly high.

Hopefully the rebuilding work will start this week but i've got so much on at the moment I've bought the thing and it's just sitting there. Typical...

PS: Si, the Torque Thrusts were not supplied with the car. It came with the original magnums as shown. I like thrusts but reckon the rattiness needs some steelies for the full Moonshine chic effect.

Air shocks are a bad idea, that part of the car is not structural. You should not need any assistance with new springs.

Ok Pete, I'll check the shocks out ands see if they're air.

REBEL - I have a new front and rear valaces (one of each) and I doubt I will be needing them so you can have first refusal if you like?

PIcture showing the 295/80/15s on the 10" wide smoothies up against the car as she is now on 245/60/14s. Ride height on air shocks was 28 inches - now 25 inches with hemi leaf springs and KYB shocks. Yes I did take the air shocks out for exactly the reasons given above - weight on the shock mounts, what if they car comes down on the tyres etc.

All I'm thinking is if Jonny is thinking of 17 inch diameter wheels which are ten inch wide then he needs to be sure when shod they will fit under the wheel arch. I would not want to get bespoke wheels and find they dont fit! I believe 275 is the widest tyre that will fit underneath a Charger - but is that still ok on the size of wheels being considered?

Cheers guys. I can't wait to drive a manual V8 yank - never had the pleasure. The shift feels ok and the previous owner bloke said she drives alright but just doesn't stop well (non-power drums).

More pics as soon as Chris from WASP comes to visit....

Yeah I know what you mean. My Charger has non-power assisted drums and you need a bit of notice to stop, about quarter of an hour usually! The manual is great but a bit of a pain in stop/start traffic.

Chris from Wasp has come up trumps with trunk floor and lower quarters so the surgery will start soon. Watch this space.

Once again no time for photos at the moment but Chris from W.A.S.P delivered the trunk floor and rear quarters tonight so time for work to begin!

He also confirmed that the rear shocks are new KYB adjustables, no air shocks.

More details etc soon.
