Bit of work done around actual work.
Held up waiting for my intake manifold and Rocker covers / filter lid to come back from the blasters, so did some bit and piece jobs over the last few days. Painted the K, pulled the rear bumper and fitted the new one, adjusted the boot lid and fitted new across the rear end to replace the battered old stuff, did some test fitting etc, then decided I needed to get on with cleaning up the grot from the ancillaries that are being replaced under the hood. Started with the wiper motor, as it looked shocking against the new paint. Took a good while stripping all the snot, sealant and around 16 layers of brushed on paint, but once I had it stripped back and sanded it was ok. Checked out the innards and no issues, so found some old black spray in the bottom of a toolbox and quickly regretted that… on reflection, no idea how old it was, as it sprayed a weird brown and went on very thin and took an eternity to not really dry.
Re prep before work this morning as I couldn’t live with the crap finish, so grabbed a tin of smoothrite spray from the local motor factors and it came up pretty well.
Just need to sort a new ballast resistor, replace the old brittle wiring and clean the nuts up and it can go back on.
Small things and all that…

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…
