That does not explain how you got a hemi K-member Red. The 440 is not sitting on one.

I'm just thinking there Red. With your limited knowlege you don't think a 440 is the same as a 426 Hemi do you?

Ok let me explain now pay attention young man....
The car was a straight six
A 440 was put in it...
the k member was not upgraded...
it was questioned...
I bought the car knowing this...
I just found out that the K memeber that was bought to solve the problem happens to be from a Hemi...

Have to say, I am a bit confused about how you picked up the Hemi K. You seem to be saying it hafd either a 6 pot or 440 fitted to it when you got the car???

The car has a 440 in it but it was originally a 6, the previous owner bought a K to fit, I just found out its a Hemi K...
Does this help??

Ahhh, so the Hemi K wasnt fitted to the car then. The guy had a 6 pot, bought the K with the intention of using it to fit a 440 without realising the differences in K's, and never got round to fitting it.
I see grasshopper.
Sell it. Anything unique to a Hemi car is worth a packet for some reason (would rather have a 6 pack meself.

)

I have a spare V8 "K" member, swop it for the Hemi "K" - if you provide the hemi to go with it

So how was the 440 fitted to the K-frame? Welded in?
You cannot use the 426 engine mounts on the 440 and you cannot use the 440 mounts on the frame.

To go off slightly on a tangent, I know I should know the answer to this but I don't...
What K frame was used on the '68 super stock hemi A bodies? I know it was spaced away from the frame to lower the engine, but was it,
A one off design cobbled up by Hurst?
A special K frame supplied by the factory?
A stock K frame with some sort of trick mounts?
None of the above?
