To quote Steve Kelly RE the size of the trunk : "OK, it might be a gripe, but Buddy Baker, Charlie Glotzbach, or Bobby Isaac will probably never care about it. They travel light, and always on the same road!"

(I was just reading that as you posted!

5mph is huge Stu, even more so today. I just got back from the final NASCAR races at Homestead, and in qualifying, only about 2mph separated the pole winner from the last spot on the grid (43rd). If you're running 5mph slower than the leader, you're gonna get lapped several times in the race!
Point take, Adam. Wasn't really thinking about the track!

I prefer the Superbird to the Daytona also.

So Clivey prefers a 'Bird to a '70 Charger
Well, it did use '70 Charger fenders - or dictated them, depending on who you believe...

Affraid its true Pete. Just think the bird looks the part a bit more than the Dodge job.

Its amazing what effect a bit of black-out vinyl and a slightly more sloping wing will do.
I was SO tempted to put a spare set of 'Bird nose blackouts on my Daytona just to see how it would look and to wind people up; but I just imagined the grief I would get from all the know-it-alls...They are still in the loft, sigh....the blackouts, not the know-it-alls, err if you get what I mean......
The curves on a Daytona are much nicer than the slab-sided 'Bird....

Blimey Pete - I'll be careful not to patronise you. Don't want to end my days chained up in your loft.
Reminds me of that Monty Python sketch where the scantily clad housewife lures the milkman into the bedroom, where he finds about 20 other imprisoned milkmen.
wierd vinyl

Superbird never won anything. The 69 Daytona won the Nascar season in 1970, bobby Isaac in a car that was already a year out of date. The interesting 1971 Superbirds may have made a difference. However that was not to be. On race car victories alone the Tona always takes the Bird.
