Did you have oiling problems with both heads/valvegear? , or was one side more problematic than the other?

To be honest, I'm not sure now..... Think one side was more problematic, but again I'm not 100% certain.

Did you find something then ?

Would it of been the pas side bank? , came across it by chance & certainly would,nt of been an easy find , just thinking if all these heads suffer with the same problem.

Seems to be an issue with oil way allignment on one head , if the heads are swapped over problem solved........tis a relatively easy fix so will keep the heads in order they came off.

Mark what is the little plate to the right of the bottom pulley?

i would think its the timing indicator,

I guess you mean on the left as you look at the photo ?

If so, Yes, as Dunc said, timing indicator.
