Exactly what I thought "DUNC".....what you`ll find is that people that can`t afford them always think they look rubbish.

What a load of narrow minded crap, I can't afford one, I would love one, in my opinion one of the best looking cars ever made.

ON the Subject of the Mimmack Bird, his son Paul still on the scene and goes to the Preston Cruise and looks in on this Forum regularly. He now owns two Olds 442s

The Mimmacks also owned a 427 side oil er motor a few years back.

They were going to keep the 440+6 Bird but got an offer they could not refuse.

There's a car for everyone out there.

Here's 1 for Steve

Photoshopped I know, but it'll float his boat for a while at least :D

So how many wing cars are there in the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands, original or clones?

I know of three original, and I think 3 clones.

If you're including Daytonas, that sounds about right Jon. I'm not sure of the status of the Jersey cars, or the Monteverdi cars.

A couple of wild cards are a FY1 Bird that was on display in the Driver's Club at the Goodwood Festival of Speed some years back. I thought it was Tony O's old car, but it had a different reg. Couldn't get a photo unfortunately.

Also, a reliable source knows of another Bird here in Sussex, which may be the same one that was displayed at Goodwood.

out of all the birds the mimack car did it for me before it was ever messed with it had great patina the sharp edges on the fender tops were rubbed through to primer and a few battle scars it used to look great
not a real lover of them mint and polished up to death, i appreciate the work/time/effort but a car is original once,

but look see they are still causing interest and debate 40 yrs on, ;) :D

always use to see this car parked at side of road near thomas motors mid to late 80`s, think paul worked at the ford dealers there,

dont know him much, but always talked to his dad john he had a big unitnear stanley park, the bird was parked up in there quite a while, i had a 58 plymouth at time red/white of course
