Different laws in different states/territories about LHD age of vehicle and if they have to be RHD to be on full rego. Think LHD is ok on club rego but that is very restrictive on when and how far you can drive.
You think it's a nanny state here in the UK...

no but hail the size of tennis balls causes damage that can't be buffed out
