Dont necessarily want the cheapest option, just trying to stay fairly sane. I like the idea of dropping another mill in rather than trying to tune the 318 - I'd quite like to keep hold of that...never know when it might come in handy.

If you're feeling flush, buy those listed Ali Eddy heads for a Grand and build the motor around it!
If that's beyond your budget, try to find a good set of heads that are already 'done' ie good valve job, seat etc as building good heads from scratch can be expensive.

That's what has been done to that engine that I am selling. The heads have been rebuilt and valve job and porting done

Hj, have you spoken to Jon? He does seem to be the master of getting small blocks to go fast, that said, as others have pointed out why not fettle what you have already, better carbs, maybe a different intake, or upgrade the guts perhaps and you could find its just what you want.

Very productive today - the 360 will be going in at some point fairly soon I'd hope. It's the right move for me I'm sure.

Hj the key line there is "Stay fairly Sane" if you get hooked that line will come back to haunt you,,, ,,,, Now for some advice from someone who has lost the plot,,,,Keep it simple ,keep it reliable, keep it street,,,and never,, never race it ,,,,,Sort out the stance ,brakes ,and everyday stuff before you start messing with the moter.....Enjoy smoking around in it ,learn about all this stuff, don,t listen to the bench racers on here ,thats all most of them do is yak.....But most af all have fun with it ,as soon as it becomes a financial drain the fun goes ...Good luck

HJ
I was keeping quiet about this
My first Mopar was a 1974 318 Satellite that then got the 440 / 727 + 3" twin exhaust treatment.
I loved it.
