right

today i am at my lowest in a long time

I'm on call for work this week

i wanted to drive the car to work today

so last night was valve spring night

see if you can guess what happend next

plugs off
rockers off
pushrods out

wind engine over
stick washing line down plug hole
do cy1 ex valve spring
do cy1 inlet valve spring
wind over
washing line
do cylinder 2 ex valve spring
mount up spring compressor for inlet valve
take phone call
15 minutes
come back
remove valve spring compressor
take phone call
put valve spring compressor on cylinder 3
mount it, load it up smack it with hammer compress
remove retainer and collets
take phone call
........................................................................................................................................10 minutes later


something is missing


spend 1/2 hour mounting rare earth magnet in end of thin dowel

spend 2 hours fishing about. no luck

go to bed fed up to the back teeth, no sleep.
forgot that the tooth fairy was supposed to visit daughter
start day badly as well

hurry hurry hurry and distractions makes dave a stupid boy


so cometic head gaskets

spray em with blue hylomar????

or just whack em back in if they have still got their coating

zorst off
inlet off
gasket good
rockers off
guide plates off
head off
gasket good
valve springs done
head face cleaned
block face cleaned
gasket surfaces perfect and all still coated
waiting for can of blue hylomar

back on the road by tomorrow hopefully
