I am really worried now.

Obviously I was wrong. Only Muslims are evil and they are all plotting against us.

Thanks for opening my eyes to this threat.

I am going to add security to my house and arm myself against these hoards of Muslim gangs roaming the streets and imposing their laws on me.

I had better stack up on beer too before that is banned.

Maybe a beard and some fake tan will protect me?

I can see by the media coverage that my normal pure blood Welsh/Celtic/Anglo Saxon/German/Viking/Norman/Roman/French heritage along with its values and customs is truly under threat.

Or maybe not.

This is why you will never see Andy at any events because he is the type that hides behind his computer.
Personally I would love to meet him. :)

Andy. You keep missing the point.

The Bible has been used all through history to condone the types of behaviour you are attributing to Islam.

Quotes from the Bible have been used to defend;

Slavery
Torture
Repression of women (on going in the UK)
Genocide

and anything else men feel like justifying. You can find a quote to justify anything anywhere.

It's not that long ago women couldn't vote in this country. Even then they were not allowed jobs that men could do instead in my own lifetime. My sister was the first female draftsman in the whole of the UK because it was a "mans" job. And this was just the 70s!
Equal pay for women didn't start until the 70s and is still to this day behind mens wages.

But it is the Church in particular that has fought tooth and nail to keep repressing women. In fact if it was left to the church we would still probably be burning old women suspected of being witches.

It has never been the church on the forefront of human rights. It has always been these "Liberals" you complain about that have given you the freedoms you are abusing right here.

In fact we would still be killing Scots and Catholics if it wasn't for liberals. Something I feel we should maybe bring back.

Dave, Im not trying to justify the bible. You're missing the point in its entirety. The point is Christians used to be barbaric but today they rarely are. Most Christians do not even follow the bibles teachings anymore and make it up as they go along. Its all lip service. Muslims on the other hand follow the Cur'an to the letter and then some. Hence why we have the global issues they are causing now and why there is no such thing as a tolerant/ Muslim and why they generally dont speak out about the atrocities carried out in the name of Islam. Do you honestly think if Shira law was introduced all the tolerant Muslims would speak out? You need to read the Cur'an, understand its teachings and thn ask any Muslim if they believe it. You'll be surprised. On the other Hand whilst the Bible condemns Homosexuality and its punishable by death not many Christians would push for that. If they personally feel its true they are not actually going out and bashing Homosexuals heads in. Same as sex before marriage, how many 'Christians' claim to be such and are not married? The list goes on and on.

You keep mentioning what Christians used to do, and thats fine. Im talking about what Muslims are still doing, and its getting worse.

Wow, this thread did not go the way I was expecting last time I looked!!

Anyway, I know a guy who is a committed pacifist, he has been one all his life and goes to pacifist rallys, writes in pacifist publications, he's always going on about it. He also likes to go out and randomly beat people up in the street, he carrys a knife and often stabs people for no reason. Well, I'm shocked - I thought pacifists were nice people, but he clearly proves that pacifism is bloodthirsty and vindictive. They should ban pacifism.

Or how about this. Doctors are evil people. That guy Harold Shipman coldly murdered innocent people - and he'd taken the Hippocratic oath, just like the rest of them. So clearly the Hippocratic oath is an evil document that causes people to commit murder. Doctors should all be banned.

Hopefully my point is obvious - if you want to point fingers at a RELIGION, look at what the RELIGION says - and in context, and in the round. Don't look at people who claim to represent that religion but do the opposite of what it says. Jesus said to love your enemy, bless those who persecute you. As he died he asked God to forgive those who had killed him.
I'm not an expert on Islam, but I've read a bit, and listened to a debate between two Muslim scholars, one moderate and one extreme, who were trying to justify their take on Islam using the Quran - I have the say the extremist make his case far better from referring to what the Quran actually said. But anyway, Muslims need to make their own case, I'm not one and can't speak for them.

So there are moderate people who claim to be Christians, Muslims, and Atheists. And there are extreme people who claim to be Christians, Muslims, and Atheists. How do you know who the 'real' 'followers' are?
Look at what their code says, not what they do, and then decide.

Oh, and if you still don't buy this line of reasoning, then you might want to consider these facts and presumably conclude that Atheism starts wars and genocides.
Image
Personally, I accept that Atheism does not compel you to do these things....just like Christianity does not. But please let's let go of the tired old argument that "blanket religion" is the cause of all the wars. It's factually untrue and not even difficult to falsify.

And if you want to find out which peoples are REALLY suffering persecution today, it's not hard to find out. While the liberal West feels smug about how tolerant and fair minded we are, poor and oppressed peoples around the world are being killed for being Christians while the West is largely silent. That's what I call obscene

Love it, Gavin takes Andys argument apart and he congratulates him for it

Banning religion is both impossible and pointless. Much as I dislike all forms of belief and I hope one day they will be gone, this can only happen through education. You can never stop someone believing something with violence, all that can ever achieve is more committed believers who want revenge. That stupid bloody cycle has been repeating since long before Islam or Christianity were thought up!
If you are right about Muslims Andy, what exactly are you proposing the world does about it? Kill them all? All 3,000,000,000 of them? After all there's no such thing as a good Muslim eh so you'll have to include ALL 3 billion. And any leftie sympathisers of course! There's too many to shoot though, the bullets would be too expensive and they keep dropping to their knees to pray just as you try to shoot 'em in the back! Concentration camps and gas chambers, yeah that's the way to go!
(shakes head in dismay...)
