Not all parts appropriate for all Dizzys

but ask turnip

you can use any combo of the springys you like

i would suggest the lightest pair to start off.

or the lightest and your remaining standard spring

if it pings when you lug it up a hill or put the boot in

put in the next heavier one.

you have all the combos there to produce a fast curve or a longf slow curve

modern fuel seems to like a pretty short and fast curve all in by 3000

and initial of 15 -17. every motor is different.

If it is not a race car then half in by 2000rpm is good enough as long as it is all in by 3000 as long as you are using the vacuum advance as well. But limit the vacuum advance to just 10 degrees.

The little collar is the 'advance stop bushing'.
The two factors at play here are 'how fast it advances' (the springs determine this, hence different grades). and 'how far it advances' - the little collar does this, sits on a pin in there somewhere and stops the weights flying out too far.

You can do all sort of curves depending on your need. The collar stops your total advance going too far (so if you have initial at 10 and move it to 18, you need something to stop it going too far the other end).

Jon confirmed its not needed for my application.

I'm more or less ready to fire the car up, plugs are fouled pretty badly, so I'm going to try pick some up today along with some AF allen keys. All my stuff is metric, so I'm out buying tools again :lol:

Shes set up for parted vacuum, reading some of the posts and most say I should run manifold vacuum, so I might try that too.
