Pete wrote:I hope the motor makes at least 900 bhp; it's the torque that is hard to predict.....
I think it will make 928 bhp at 7000 rpm, and 711ft/lbs at 6000 rpm but the torque is low further down the rev range.....about 496 ft/lb at 3500 rpm....
.....it will make 972 bhp at 7500 rpm which proves your point, but that is HELL of a lot of heavy metal thrashing around at that level...maybe "Heavy Metal" should be the name of the car

What program was that?....Dyno2000??

Yeah, it's only a guide and a bit of fun!
It has come up quite close on the numbers with cars of a known weight and thee timing slips....
Heads have been fully ported by ICE. Stock Stage V's flow 408 cfm....

Yes they are all a guide just like the Wallace Calc, pretty close as you say...whatever I tried re your Hemi I couldn't get it to make the hp at anything less than 7500rpm just like you, although it can be done, the Indy 572 crate motor makes 960 at 7400, your heads probably flow 450cfm+@.850" then?, some tough choices to make.

Well, I think the trick here is to have a bit of fun and not scatter the parts up the track.....on our sort of budget Bracket racing is the only option
If I really want to bab myself I still have the Altered.
The 508 Hemi makes pretty much the same power, but in a car that weighs 1600lbs...........

Should not be that hard - must be like riding a bike with an RSJ that has been strapped across the frame

...you need a "V Twin" in your life!!!
Think of the ground clearance - I bet you would never ground the Rocker boxes on a Harley!!!!

Nope, battery has not turned up yet, needs to be a gel one as it is mounted on its side due to lack of space - typical Wop bike................

The moroso slide rule is fairly accurate and the wallace calc is not far off.
For fun i would recommend someone putting their mph and weight from their fairly stock BB into the wallace calc, they might get a shock. Lol

Yep, that works well!
Real Horsepower is hard to make, as is getting the real weight of your car down...........

Yes Pete, a bit of fun is the order of the day, however I perhaps mistook your intentions that you wanted to go faster than Duncan did, ie 9.30's. You could of course build your motor similar to DaveB's 850hp spec?, so it will last, and still run in the 9.70's with 4.10's turning only around 6800rpm with conv. slip with those 29.5" tyres, and with a steel rodded motor. Look forward to seeing it run at the Nats perhaps.
