Yes, it always bothered me after I junked the fenders. It looked pretty stupid to be honest. These Chevy trucks are not as pleasing to the eye as the early Fords. But everyone has bloody Fords!

Saturday, it was obvious that this car is not going to see the road this year. So we decided it build it to a higher standard then we first thought. I have junked more than I have kept already.. But pretty determined to keep the front end all Chevy, even though the kids want me to go Ford mono leaf. The Chevy has dual leaf springs, and although not as tidy as Ford, it is Chevy. And will be different to all the other sheep.

With the extra strength going in, it will be fine for some racing in the nostalgia class.

Just think Blue, while you are junking weight, I am adding it! :thumbright:

Deal fell through on wheels n tires

Started fabrication on these parts now,
all was going well, till the 6 foot brake fell over! Do you know how much those things weigh!!!

There are 22 pieces of shaped and curved steel needed to make those parts!

After pulling the roof off yesterday, we found the horror of a wood frame that was rotted and split! No wonder the body was all over the place.
Wood has all be taken out, and a new steel frame is being made. This will make it a lot stronger, especially as I will tie it in with all the other steel frame we have made., also dropped roof 1/4". Makes the top door gap really neat and tidy.

Yup, Billy pretty much tore it apart again today... Had to do some strengthening in the roof before the move on Saturday. All ready to go in the trailer. I will try n get some pics of the move.
Oh, and as you can see, it will be loud!

The roof will need more strengthening than that Ratchet strap, Jeff.

It will be interesting to see pictures of the truck in its new surroundings.

Hope the move goes well.

All the best

No, next weekend Miles.... Hope it is still there!

Billy welded the new roof structure yesterday, I removed all bracing last night, we now have a square body! Yay!!!
All packed up, and ready to move in the morning. 6 months is the new target to get it sorted and home in the garage under its own steam.
