So what you are saying Bacca is that I should lay the car up in an unrunning state and wait a couple of years until I have the money to buy a pair of ally heads and (because nothing else has changed) run probably exactly the same times on the strip.
Great plan that.

hey dave if your head is us i will have i am sure the casting no you need, you would have to take your other head off and copy the porting etc in to it, i am sure with some effort you can do this yourself get yer valves swapped in i know they will be oversize but plenty off shops can do that for you in all should not cost you to much money the head from me will be peanuts,

Err no Dave.
What I'm saying is buy some good Ali heads, modify the pistons, run better times and have some fun!
I know money is tight, and I haven't run a car in many a long year as I ain't got a Job, but I still like helping other folks to keep their Mopars up and running so they can have fun like I used to before I was made redundant for the fourth time!!!
I see alot of folks flogging 40 year old heads and wasting time and money in doing so.
The cost of Ali heads is coming down all the time and there's no time like the present.
Its like buying a house, you know you gotta do it so why wait???

Oh and another thing?
Cos I help people get their cars done, I don't get my own done!
Gonna be doing my own car from now on methinks!!!
Funny that I feel better already, don't have time to post either as I got to go and rub some rust LOL
65replies to go, sorry for trying to help, my mistake!
Bought my car twelve years ago and its only just started!
Five years to go!!!
Bye bye Bacca.

Not unless you are after consistency and reliability which would be a first for any car on this forum.

Hey Bacca if I had money (or any credit left) I would have had light-weight rods, pistons and CNC ported Stealth heads two years ago.
I might even have gone for a 4.15 stroke crank too when I buggered the original crank.
But money is tight and if mortgage interest rates go up much in the near future the car will have to be sold never mind buying new parts for it.

Thanks for the offer. My mate Tim that used to have the yellow 1970 Chally with T/A hood tried to give me a pair of 906 heads a couple of years ago but I wouldn't have them? Doh!

Ahh umm...look no further than here Dave
I'd be tempted to wait until the right heads come along at a good price on here or elsewhere or (you have the spare ££.. like me that never happens in reality)
Or put the motor back together, use it, have fun...and collect the bits to build a stroker at your own pace.
