Thanks Mike, but the carb end isn’t the issue, it’s the pedal end.

No, the type of fitting at the pedal currently is the same sort of set up as the below :

The cable end I posted is the universal end that is on the cable, supposed to fit on the pedal end.

The carb end is fine, retained ball, but is fixed, so can’t be removed and fitted to my existing cable.

All you can do then is chop the end off and use one of the bolt on bits from the other cable to retain it in the pedal.

I reversed mine around the other way so the nipple end was captured in the pedal

Ah, can’t do that as the other end is fixed, non removeable end, so it would have to be cut.

Well, a combination of brains between Mr P and Blue, the solution is found and Cinderella SHALL go to the ball! \:D/

Ended up drilling the existing fitting straight through and using a bolt and nuts to clamp to the carb arm.

Fingers crossed, racing is on! [-o<

Few bits done in prep for the Nats.

Was running smokey at Dragstalgia, which we thought was likely to be poorly sealed manifold gaskets. I’d done it in a rush last time, so took it all off and did it properly this time.

Seemed a good time to sort out some other stuff too. Was having real problems with the rocker covers not sealing properly and the breather puking every time it was under pressure, which all added up to a nice amount of oil escaping all over my nicely ali-sprayed headers. :doh:

Replaced the covers and added a new breather tank and push in breather instead. That bit has worked and stopped the top end leaks, along with one loose header bolt that a little nip cured. :thumbright:

Got underneath and cleaned everything off and dried it, all seemed ok. Took a good run out and all was well, so gave it a bit of wellie and *bugger*… smokey Joe again…

Got back and oil dripping off the bellhousing again. :roll:

Back to the drawing board… :-k

Out on a further test run, noticed an annoying ticking, so went digging to see if I could see anything obvious.

Noticed these markings on the pushrods on the left bank. I’m guessing that’s not good… #-o

A mark that high up suggests rocker cover interference which isn’t something I’ve seen before.
