Are the rear wheel bearings adjusted correctly, as this can put the diff off centre and create noise.

One side has an adjuster. You adjust it while measuring in/out end play on the axle with a dial indicator. You need between 0.008 and 0.018 inch endplay.

In my experience most Diffs whine and resonate at a particular speed - usually Cruising Speed :x

There is probably nothing wrong.....

Two mates of mine have owned B Body's with 8 3/4s in and

Did you check the mesh pattern and the pinion bearing pre load carefully?

What is the backlash on the ring like? If it is excessive that might be a sign of abnormal wear.

Did you do a mesh pattern test with some paste on the teeth? If you are not 100% sure of the pattern post a photo or two of the pattern you have so we can see.

I would not have thought a worn LSD would cause noise just cruising along?? :?

What is the noise like? A whine?

Hello Dave
Did a mesh test it was spot on
Can't post pic's don't have the gear i'm only a poor
Panelbeater
Anyway the sure grip is the only thing left with play
in it as you can move the wheels back & forward
with out the prop moving is this normal
Also the wine like noise my be there at high speed
but you can't here much with wind & exhaust noise
