I want to retain the Holley Street Dominator manifold if poss and i'd still like peak power to be around 6,000rpm but I think the 509 cam I currently have is too much - idle isn't great, standard converter etc etc...
So what cam should I go for guys?
Cool!

It's basically a Standard '69 RT, 440 but with Headerman Headers into dual flowmasters, 750 vac secondary Holley, Street dominator inlet and the 509 cam.

Cheers Guys

No messing around with one of these, no degreeing it in as Jimmy does it all in the grind for your motor, also with that in mind you get the benefit of not having to make the choice yourself, you just leave it all to a cam engineer thats been grinding mopar cams for over 40 years.
The list in the link above is just a small portion of the numbers available from RB.
With RB on the end of an email where's the sense in hoping an off the shelf grind will work best or trying to be a cam engineer.
Hughes are just mass produced off the shelf cams, same as 99% of all the rest.
Drop me an email with the car specs and i'll get a recommendation and cost from RB

Cool guy's, well helpfull Those link's are exactly the kind of thing I need to browse. I'm fine with beemer's, just need to get a feel for the Mopar world y'know
MilesnMiles,
I have'nt looked yet!!! I'm just going to change it all anyway but thats knowing that I'm 90% sure it need's it anyway - it did always have a small cammy rattle when cruising on light gas but I didn't know weather or not it was normal - some folks suggested exh manifold gatskets. Obviously if when I open it up there's a small badger in there with a pinball machine or similar I will of course post it here!!
Hmmmm, sod it I'll do it now!!!!
Watch this space!

Emmm, I wonder if this had anyhing to do with it
So I put it back into place but the rattle is still there.....I inspected the lifter which seemed fine but it must be that it is not pumping up ??? does that seem right?
Actually How comes I was able to pop the push rod back in simply with the cam lobe down?? let me put it this way, after standing for however long it takes the lifters to drain, should there be enough play that you'd be able to take a push rod out ??? I would have thought not?? (obviously only on lobes that are down)
Can I fix my problem with a new set of lifters then?? Could I just change the 'problem' one?

That would do it! Question is,why did it do that?

Cheap set of lifters is only £40 ish+some break-in lube.I'd def.look at the valve springs and check the pushrod lengths as well.

Steve. I sent you a PM at 3:30pm. You don't seem to have read it. In that PM I suggested you had something wrong with the engine. Looks like you found it.

Sounds like the same problem I had with my 509 cam. Found a push rod lying in the valley, here's the cam.
