My Barracuda is now off the road for the winter (I have to pay for the tax ) and one of the jobs that I wanted to do was to change the valve body in the gearbox and remove the stock automatic valve body and fit a manual reverse pattern valve body. My question is this which one should I go for and why?

Turbo Action----------------------------------$149.95

Griner --- with low band apply-------------$199.00

A & A--- with low band apply---------------$275.00

I must admit I do not fully understand the automatic gearbox but from what I have found out that this low band apply is a Torqueflite thing and does not relate to other manufactures such as GM and Ford.

mines a tci but if I was getting one now I'd shell out the extra for low band apply

Is there a technician in the house ?

Guy, as I recall there was an article on 'scottys' mopar page that dealt with this query. The essence of it was: go for low band apply to protect your box. Cant give more than that mate but, the article did leave a lasting impression.

I've alway's used the Turbo action and been happy with them, but now low band apply is out there I would use one of those for safetys sake, Turbo action now do one with low band apply, check the price of that. Griner has a very good reputation and is popular in the states, A&A again make good quality stuff, but it tends to be pricier than the competition. Some of the pricer units use billet instead of oem castings, which is overkill for the sort of application you have in mind, look very nice though....
