Removing oil pump drive shaft

Just finished stripping my 360. Can't seem to easily remove the oil pump drive shaft and cog. Can't see whats holding it in place. And yes, I did take the camshaft out :o

I think they just lift out whether the cam is in place or not don't they? :?

Thats what I thought. Maybe its a bit sticky. Looked as if the oil hadn't been changed in years.

Probably easier with the cam in as you get a big screwdriver in the slot and twist it out. Sometimes the bottom end of the shaft gets crudded up and it's a pita to get it through the bushing.

Well you can always take the oil pump off and knock it out from the other end! :D

Not yet, figure i'll save it for the weekend and also jiggle that nice freeze plug out of the water jacket! :lol:
