Anyone know whats a safe level of nos for a standard 72 jenson 440,ive been told jenson only used 6 pack bottom ends but dont know if this is true

"safe" is a relative term, It depends on the condition of the engine to start with. You will need to have the timing set correctly because if you get into detonation with nitrous you will be sweeping your engine up off the floor! same result if your fuel system isn't up to scratch, you don't want it running lean. I'm no nitrous expert so I'm not going to guess how big a shot is "safe" for your combo. On the subject of six pack rods, every Jenson engine I've ever opened up has had them, even the motorhome engine I took a look at recently had them, in my experience any '72 on 440 is likely to have them. I think six pack rods are a bad thing rather than a good thing, the rod is heavier than a regular 440 rod and yet has the same size rod bolt which is the weak spot, so all it is doing IMHO is beating up the rod bolts even harder, and why would we want to do that?

I used to run a power shot system on my 340 Dart and it took a full second off the car and that was a mild system, i think if your engine is in good order you wont have a problem but as John says tuning is important and providing it's not a big system it's cheap power.

the kit i might do a deal on is the "cheater" kit by NOS its 150 to 250 bhp also been to real steel today and bought a new mega shifter and a line lock.some big bad rolling burnouts are coming

I have just the thing to blow it all to bits, see the for sale section, but seriously though Terry Blue's right as ever those lardy old six pak rods are not going to do you any good.
Best thing to do is get a little kit and go at it gently, don't try dumping 250HP into it first time out.
Stock motors take a lot of abuse, good luck

As I understand it a lot of the problem comes with shock loading due to a huge hit - not to mention the resulting lack of traction... Progresive controllers have a bit of a bad name because NOS and similar solenoids require far more frequent rebuilds when "pulsed" to give a progressive release and when people forget to keep with the maintenance and the engine lets go its everybody elses fault but the guy who forgot to change the solenoid seals.
At least 2 companies make a pulsed solenoid which doesn't require the frequent rebuilds.
I have no personal direct experiance of either of these but they seem like a good answer to a selection of problems.
