I'll be fitting some mono springs soona nd wondered which is the best method to remove the rear springs. My primary concern is, do I a) remove the large bolt that holds the front eye of the spring to the hanger , first, or do I b) remove the spring hanher and detach the spring from it once i've detached the hanger (and spring) from the car?

Don't think you can remove the bolt in situ , can't on the charger.

Once the weight of the car is off the springs , undo the front 4 hanger bolts to chasis , remove the U bolts from perches , then slide the leaves off the rear shackles.

thanks Adam, so in essence, what i wrote for plan b), remove springs and hangers inc. and undo them once the tensions off and they are lying on my lawn :thumbright:
Why do i just know that this job is going to be a PITA

No caltracs just yet, don't think the output of the 360 justifies the expense just yet. Even so, given that the current springs have gone concave, i'll be interested to se how well it does hook up with the mono-leaves.

The tension off what , you or the springs? :D

Should be a doddle , one of the easier jobs on the pit, also did'nt take any more time than anticipated.

Good luck. :thumbright:

BTW, don't you go scratching that nice new paint. ;)

Talking of time, how long did it take, Adam? I need to make shakey at the weekend without having the Mopar in bits and missing another event!

Bout an hour a side , depending on how easy it comes to bits.

Think you get a set of new U bolts with em , which is gonna save some time.

I'm reusing the u bolts as they are quite recent, Trev made me up some nice billet ally spacers to allow me to reuse with the thinner spring set up.
