this problem has been getting worse. stated about 6 months ago, every now and then i could hear a skidding sound from the left front wheel, mainly when i went over speed bumps but just been out in the charger and it was almost undrivable. feels like the wheels are not touching the road, when i got home the left hand bottom ball joint was almost touching the bottom arm, i thought it was the ball joints so stripped it and there isnt much play in either top or bottom joint. the height adjuster bar in the bottom arm has marks like it has been hitting something. anyone got any ideas what is causing this?.

Maybe the thread had stripped in either the adjuster bolt or plate , have you checked the torsion bar rear mount is ok , also the lower control arm bush/strut rods.
Gotta be plainly visable when you get it off the floor.

I found the problem, on friday i decided i have to get to the bottom of this problem, so restripped the left hand suspension and as soon as i released the torsion bar and tie rod the bottom arm moved about an inch. when i got it out there was no rubber left in the bush just 2 badly battered tubes of metal, so ordered new 1s from US AUTOMOTIVE (phoned them about 2pm friday) and they arrived at Steves shop 1st thing saturday morning. spent over 6 hours changing the 1 side (i havent got a press), went to chelsea cruise for the road test and the charger is handling great again. Will do the other side soon when i can use my mates press. I f anyone ever needs to change these bushes make sure you are near a press, i used the old BIG hammer and its real hard work.
