Anyone happen to have a diagram for the exact placement of the bumble-bees on a 68 Charger ? Or is it a case of 'Look at as many photos as you can and guess-timate' ?

I would have thought best to line the stripe(s) up with the side markers on both sides, you cant go wrong then. Derek Carter fitted his himself (and did a great job). He should be along soon. :)

if you can't get a diagram

then its measure another car

and if you can't do that

its work out from an old photo

for example

if you find a pic of a standard car the wheel will be standard so you know its size in the flesh

measure this diameter on the photo

divide the real size with the photo size to get your multiplier

then measure on the photo the distances necessary to place the stripe

multiply up by the multiplier to get the measuremnt for on the car

do this on 4 or 5 photos to get a decent average or compare with a real car in the flesh.

obviously try not to mix your units. start in mm stay in mm

measuering another car is eaisier

or getting a stripe masking kit

Thanks chaps - appreciated as always.

I've been collecting pics and think I have the rough measurements (The side repeater is a good ref point). Just wanted to make sure there was no readily-available-factory-diagram or similar.

Pete - thanks for offer. If I get cold feet and decide I need to measure the real thing I'll let you know ! !

Morgan.

PS - Going for Black ones against gunmetal-grey car. I am hoping it will look really subtle (but I've been wrong before) :)

That sounds a perfect colour combo morgan. Taht WILL look cool. A guy in the states has that combo on a 70 charger, but with black vinyl roof, black steelies and black interior. It really does look the dogs testicles. :thumbright:

In metric would be , from left to right , or right to left ;) ................

6mm stripe
6mm gap
68mm stripe
20 mm gap
68mm stripe
6mm gap
6mm stripe

180 mm from left to right , this is from DC.Com , it's gotta be right , cos the bloke who posted it is still alive.

:D

Worked mine out on these measurements.

Preferred to have em painted on.

The 68 mm stripe comes down SMACK in line with the side light , so lookin @ the drivers side , it will be the second 68 mm stripe goin through the side light.

This one is 1/8th" out , but you get the picture , the bloke got a rollicking for posting it. :D

Shoulda known Adam would have the real diagram ! :-)

Mine are stickers - want to see how it looks before commiting to paint. The stripes themselves are fine dimension wide, and the alignment on the rear light is useful.

It appears to me in terms of angle they are slightly raked (in line with rear bumper ? )
Like so - (excuse my artwork :) )

They should come down parralel with the rear bumper cut out in the rear 1/4 ,don't you rake em too much Morgan. ;)
