is this true??

I was told by someone (dont know them) when they saw a picture of the engine bay was that the tag on the passenger's side inner fenderwell caught his eye. and he said was this one of the select few that recieved its final assembly at the SIMCA plant in Paris!? and that they have a partial vin (matching the gearbox and block stampings), to meet French legislation.
Never heard of this myself, any insight?? Heres what he was talking about...

Sorry mate! I thought that was your car in the top pic......Just need a good quality close up pic of it or get yer brass rubbing set out and get a copy that way.

(I do realise that is NOT the vin plate before you anoraks get wood!)
