I am thinking of having my car sprayed over winter and would like something like candy apple green or blue, is house of color the only place to buy it and has anyone sprayed it before, or can someone suggest a metallic that looks good.

You need to be experienced to apply Candy. Being translucent, the trick is to apply evenly avoiding 'banding' (darkened bands where coats overlap)
Your best bet is to find a metalic colour that you like
House of color stuff is damn expensive
Not sure it 'Metalflake' are still going - amougnst other finishes, they also did a range of Candy colours

Yeah, i know about the banding and the cost, i was going to have it the original B5 but there's already a few like that, so i might do something different.
The car is fairly straight but the white paint is awful.

dont try to spray candy colourd unless you are 100% confident, speak to ane of the top (and i mean top) custom sprayers before taking on a job like that, few sprayers will touch it, look at probably £2k just to get the paint laid over your prepared body. other than that i love candy colours so go for it

buy scootering magasine plenty of sprayers willing to do it in there
but remeber they are used to spraying shopping bikes for mods....
granted they do have a rep for insisting on perfection.

Metalflake are still going Mick, as is House of Kolor, but don't forget, many of the distributors for the leading paint brands will be happy to mix a colour to order, even from a photographic reference.
The only thing thay may not be able to provide is a large size flake though.
In addition, you can do what I have done in the past and have a colour mixed and add the size of flake you need to give you the right effect.
I'm hoping that in the next eight weeks or so I'll be painting Mister Benn's car in candy red or red metalflake, so I'll be making enquiries as to where to get the right stuff at a decent price, if you're happy to wait.

You HAVE to look at AA paint! It's what I use a hell of a lot! Some fantastic colours, including candies... But as mentioned hard to apply!
HOK do some great colours too. I would lend you my colour charts, but I really need them here at the mo...
I have metalflake, Hok and AA charts.
Oh and AA is waterbased! I would suggest "Sparklescent Toxic green" or "Sparklescent Real Teal" or "Sparklescent Nightmare Blue"
