Tyre choise?

Im looking into putting tyres on my duster, looking for the best of both worlds track and road use! size is 325/50/15.
What is a good tyre to use, looking at M/T or BF G.
Any input is appreciated.

Hoosier recommend tubes , but i don't wanna bolt the tyre to the rim , so i don't bother with tubes.

Had two punctures so far , the tyre is sooooooooooooooooo thin & difficult to repair , so forked out for new ones. :roll:

Great for road & strip. :thumbright:

Dont mind the time scale too much, as it wont be on the road all the time, i just dont want to buy new wheels and two sets of tyres for the sake of a couple of events in the year! doesnt make much sense.
Its not as if its a n all out race car just a bit of fun (for now) :)

I found Hoosiers very bad to use as street tyres.

Fitted my set on the GN, backed out the drive, drove away to merry clicking-clacking of chuckies picked up by the soft rubber, getting shed into the wheel wells. Stopped at a set of lights, nailed it with some boost and it was sideways city.

Dreadful.

Fine once you put some heat in them though, just had too short a sidewall for me.

Stuck some cheap Diamond Back retreads on and they would cut through dampness on a wet road and grip. Astonishingly good, and lasted a while.

Bear in mind, this was 10-12 years ago though.

Just wait till you find yourself trawling through Ford swap meets for all your Aus Ford buddies back in the UK ..... ;) :D

Actually, there was a Hoosier dealer here in the UK when I bought mine. I phoned up and asked if they had the size I needed. yes, they had two. Price £119 each but seing as how they were going out of business and there would be no more ... £119 for both plus free delivery.

But, as you point out, that was so last century.

And to think for years I was the only modern guy on here ... with the exception of James K.

proced quick times d.o.t in UK £181, and priced in US $181, will see how much shipping for both are and go from there.

Which type are they? who did you get them from, ive looked at alot of different types so im still no better off :roll: i think its a case of trial n error.
nees to get a pair that can take a good few mile without gettin all outa shape.

Just thought I'd better mention that those M/T drag radials are totally illegal for street use in the UK and downright dangerous if you get caught out in the wet, you boys go steady out there....
